Bella Center launches giant building project
Bella Center has launched the construction of the biggest hotel in Scandinavia. The foundation stone will be placed on 17th of September 2008 and both Orestad and Copenhagen can look forward to a unique landmark, when Bella Hotel is inaugurated in the beginning of year 2011
Now it happens! Bella Center is building the biggest hotel in Scandinavia. Two towers of 76,5 m each will during the fall start to raise its journey towards the sky. The hotel is expected to open in the first quarter of year 2011.
- For a long time, we have wished for this hotel - and now we brave the tendencies and build the biggest and most aesthetic hotel. The hotel will be an integrated part of Bella Center, which means a rank in a league of its own, when competing with cities like Paris, Vienna, Barcelona and Amsterdam. We have always had a strong card when it comes to our unique location in the middle of a metropolis with only five minutes to an international airport, a bridge to the rest of Scandinavia and Europe together with a motorway, metro and bus right to the door. And now we are placing our strongest card, says Arne Bang Mikkelsen, CEO at Bella Center.
The hotel, which consists of two towers with a total number of 814 rooms, will be kept in a strong Scandinavian design and the architects 3XNielsen have ensured that the buildings appear in a nuanced way depending on distance, light and season.
- I will go as far to say that we are talking about a beautiful building in a class of its own. Both Copenhagen and Orestad can look forward to an extravagant landmark rising to the sky, Arne Bang Mikkelsen continues, without making no secret of the fact that we are dealing with a very heavy investment - a necessary investment if Bella Center and Copenhagen still wish to be an important player on the international arena within congresses and events.
Copenhagen's position strengthened
When Bella Hotel is up and running, the capital of Copenhagen will have no less than 300.000 extra hotel nights which together with the other hotels in the city will strengthen Copenhagens position as a preferred exhibition and congress city.
The hotel will be an integrated part of Bella Center and will be a supplement to the 63 flexible conference rooms and four auditoriums with no less than 32 new conference rooms including a big ballroom and two executive conference rooms on the 23th floor in connection to a bar in the name of Sky Bar.
- Our flexible facilities make it possible for us to conduct more and greater congresses and events concurrently. And with a hotel we now have the opportunity to meet demands from both national and international congress organisers, who emphasises accommodation directly in connection to the meeting facilities, explains Arne Bang Mikkelsen, who at the time of writing is looking for a hotel manager to run the new area of business.
Not only does Bella Center stand for the construction of the hotel, but the biggest exhibition and congress center also intend to stand for the running of the hotel. This means a supply of 300-400 further employers to Bella Center.
Bella Hotel will be a four starred hotel and will primarily address the business segment for which reason the newest technology is incorporated as well as three restaurants and Sky Bar that will give a treat to the guests.
- The big spa and fitness centre consisting of 850 square metres is also a good that we expect our many hotel guests will use. Though, it is not only the guests or the employees of Bella Center, who can enjoy the exclusive facilities. Also the inhabitants of Orestad are very welcome, ends Arne Bang Mikkelsen, who is looking forward to the 17th of September, where the foundation stone will be placed.
Bella Hotel is the biggest construction to be built in Denmark in 2008.
