In 2008, Bella Center A/S hosted 67 large-scale congress events, thirteen more than the previous year. The group also saw a slight increase in the number of international congresses with nineteen such events, which is a focus area for the city of Copenhagen. In addition, 1,543 one-day meetings and 52 exhibitions, trade shows and events of varying scope were held.

Capacity boost in the capital

2008 will be remembered in particular as the year when the first sod was cut for Bella Hotel - the biggest hotel in Scandinavia with 814 rooms.

"When something has to be done for the only metropolis in Denmark, all players need to act: the state, region, local authority and the business community. We must join forces to realise the common strategy which the capital needs. And, of course, Bella Center is happy to stand up and do its share. There is no doubt that when Bella Hotel opens, it will boost capacity and in itself provide interesting possibilities for the capital," says Arne Bang Mikkelsen, CEO, Bella Center.

2009 will be an exciting year
Despite the economic recession both in Denmark and internationally, in Bella Center we have quite high hopes for 2009.

"2009 will probably be the best year for congresses for a very long time. In addition to the prestigious IOC congress in early October, we are also hon-oured to be hosting the UN Climate Summit - COP15 - in December. In addition, we know that several large, international medical congresses are being held in Copenhagen this year. In June, 13,000 people will be gathering for the European rheumatism congress EULAR," says Arne Bang Mikkelsen by way of conclusion.

The general meeting will be held in Bella Center A/S on Wednesday 13 May 2009 at 3 pm.

Bella Center presents its financial in accordance with the International Fi-nancial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
